The Parrot is one of the newest creatures added to ARK Survival Ascended with the Tides of Fortune DLC. Unlike traditional tames, the Parrot doesn’t require food, kibble, or tranquilizers. Instead, you’ll need to perform an emote near the Parrot to encourage it to land on your shoulder, where the taming process begins.
Once the Parrot has landed, you’ll have 3,600 seconds (1 hour) to complete the tame by taking part in treasure-hunting activities such as looting treasure and defeating Alpha creatures. It’s a unique taming mechanic that rewards exploration rather than gathering resources.
